I went to heaven, ––
'T was a small town,
Lit with a ruby,
Lathed with down.
Stiller than the fields
At the full dew,
Beautiful as pictures
No man drew.
People like the moth,
Of mechlin, frames,
Duties of gossamer,
And eider names.
Almost contented I could be

I picked this first bloom of 'Oklahoma' and placed it on a table near a chair artist husband likes to sit in. It's his fave, and he happened to be born in OK.
A few mornings ago, a narrow slice of sunlight lit the edge of several petals for about three inches-- I grabbed my camera-- the slice had widened in the 15 seconds it took to capture the first image-- I kept shooting for about two minutes-- until the whole rose became a light.
A favorite rose of many, this Hybrid Tea is deeply fragrant, each bloom stage is uniquely beautiful, and the shrub is sturdy and dependable.
