I told you yesterday that I had fun shooting before an imminent rainstorm. Here are the shots I quickly snapped. Yes, I shed my usual garden-shot-uptightness and went with the flow with gratitude for the overcast light.
A rose garden in full bloom can be very intimidating to this photographer. There are so many choices and angles to deal with-- which one will be best?
Spent blooms usually bother me, but hey, are they obvious? I don't think so–– relax Miss photographer.
Usually I try to hide the road, but it works here. And then there are the things I must hide . . . .
Beautiful oak laced hills surrounding us, never make it into the shot, thanks to stop signs and a zillion electrical wires.
Speed limit signs, on our actual property, must be dodged along with
black spot and leaf drop (thank you rain),
and have I ever mentioned the parking lot and elementary school that is a stones throw from the roses? This rose is 'Therese Bugnet', who I will be showing you in more detail, sans autos, in a later post.
'Therese' and hundreds of her special old rose companions will be on display at the Celebration of Old Roses, this coming Sunday, in El Cerrito, CA.
