A Bucket of Roses

Don't be yourself – be someone a little nicer.

~ Mignon McLaughlin, The second Neurotic's Notebook

My friend Mary deposited the blue bucket on my porch filled with greens for a Mom's Day bouquet project. I was enchanted and used them with joy and wonder at the variety from her garden. People tend to think I have it all when it comes to plant material, so I'm not usually on the receiving end for cut stems. The next day, when she picked up the bucket, it was replenished with roses as a gift to her. What did she do? She took it to Santa Rosa and gave it to her Mother.

The top rose is Maggie, next comes William Baffin, and then Henri Martin. Painted Lady sweet peas and all the blooms wish you a happy weekend.
