Rose Leaf Diversity

Rose-leaves-on-black

I've always been enamored by their beauty– their varied shapes and sizes.*

Their colors

Acqua-blur

even in a blur!

Of course there's always green,

Green-

but the reds . . .

Pristine

and how about covered with dew?

I like them almost more than the fleurs. (!)

For your info

Rose-leaf-and-leaflet

in rose lingo, the guy on the left is called a leaf and the one on the right is a leaflet. No I'm not confused.

HAPPY ROSE LEAF SEASON !

*The photo up top was taken many, many moons ago. It was during the "honeymoon period" of my rose love. One morning I went around the garden collecting leaves that were unique- one from the other. Then I carefully (you try it) placed them on a 45" square of black velvet, on the floor near our living room window. I set up the trypod and there you have it. This isn't the best scan, the colors are too saturated, but I've always thought it might make a nice poster.

Yay to Rose Diversity (and all diversity).
