Yellow Indeed

Abutilon

You create your own decoration. You choose your color, you choose your mood . . . (if) you are depressed, you put some bright yellow and suddenly you are happy.

The Images

Bells of yellow abutilon share the fence line in our side garden with yellow roses. The camera is looking down on a pillow of Lady Banks blooms. The pale pistils of cream California poppies. The gorgeous swirl of the opening Elina rose. I love this image of how my hand can so simply block out the sun to protect an image of Lady Banks from sunflare. I think this must be a white ground cover rose. This last image is the darling quilled bloom of the mini Topaz Jewel.

In the great books of India, an empire spoke to us, nothing small or unworthy, but large, serene, consistent, the voice of an old intelligence, which in another age and climate had pondered and thus disposed of the questions that excercise us.
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

P I C T U R E S
I can't help but celebrate India when including a picture of Ganesh, god of wisdom. The top image was inspired by my Climbing Pinkie, she's shown here with Souvenir de la Malmaison, and Heritage. Maman Cochet must be the rose in front of Ganesh- (I think). Tasty tes. Lady Elsie May photo taken at the ARS rose garden in Louisianna (yes, I was there!). Climbing Pinkie in a bud vase.
